Giants of Justice

Despite having just been mentioned by Mattel’s ToyGuru last week, it seems the 12″ Giants of Justice line has already started hitting eBay. (Doesn’t “Giants of Justice” sound like a rock album by members of the Supreme Court? Anyway…) The first three in the line are Superman, Batman and Killer Croc.

BatmanThe Batman is the most interesting of the three, featuring a unique outfit. “Disthunder” over on the Fwoosh forums had this to say about it: “It is evocative of the Brett Blevins concept Batman costume from the late 90s, post-Prodigal. The costume was never used outside of the Brotherhood of the Bat Elseworlds book.”

Fortunately for my bank account, I’ve never really gone in for the 1/6 scale stuff, so I probably won’t be picking any of these up unless they make characters who are supposed to be huge (Darkseid, Doomsday) and therefore, arguably be in scale with the 6″ figures.

Since they already have the sculpt, this would be a great way to give fans a bigger Doomsday, who was a tad small in the 6″ line.

hmm. i did not know batman and superman would be in that series (that may sound like sarcasm, but its actually true).

im a bit disappointed that croc isnt a new sculpt. i thought it would be like HML where the figures would first be released in 12", and then in 6". ah well.

some people at AFI and HOJ (and probably fwoosh, id imagine) have suggested that they use this to release figures that would be controversial as C/C; giganta, atom smasher (i dont know why hed be controversial, but its a sound idea), etc.

  2. I see that Batman and I just keep thinking AXM Cyke.
