Yeah, why do most Aquaman figures have to be <a href="http://www.marvellegends.net/Coheteboy/humor/pages/061025_ANTMANb.htm" rel="nofollow">disturbingly happy-looking</a>?

Can't say I'm a fan of these at all. I've really been un-impressed by DCD lately, and this just furthers my opinion there. Don't like the sculpts at all, too bubbly-round, the articulation looks rather flimsy, weak even. (looking at the elbow hinge) The leg sculpts are really rather amateurish to me.
I'll stick with the 4HM's work thanks. :)

It's nice to see but I still find that these DCD figures have a stylized look to them. They certainly will fit in better with DCUC than many DCD did in the past, but they don't look mass market to me, and I doubt distribution or price point will compete with DCUC for the same demographics.
We'll see though.

I'm usually a bit harsh on DC Direct, for being a bit overpriced, for scale issues, for cranking out Superman and Batman figures hand over fist; but I'd be lying if I didn't admit they do come through for me every so often. Manhunter and Creeper are must buys for me, unless DCUC somehow beats them to the punch.

My DCD wishlist gets whittled down every year: I want the original Doom Patrol, Milestone's Static, and the Heckler. Someday...

These are more simplified designs that kinda go with DCUC more than most DC Direct stuff. We'll have to see if their scales are similar enough to use together, because if they complement each other then I'll get a bunch of these things.
