Raide–I mean, RAVEN wins!

k7Sorry, had a Mortal Kombat flashback there.

The 2009 FANtastic Exclusive victor–who will be released at next year’s San Diego Comic Con–has been crowned, and the victor is Raven. While I was rooting more for some other characters, I can’t begrudge an action figure based on the inspiration for my namesake’s most famous poem.

Future voting rounds, which will begin next week, will decide things such as articulation, variants and accessories. The Horsemen hint that there may be other types of birds, too. While a cardinal would look resplendent, I’m also hoping for a pigeon and a penguin.

Now that that’s settled, what I really want to know is–what’s the status of Queen Alluxandra?

I'd be surprised if they don't do a cardinal variant. The bright red would just look too striking not to.

I've wanted an anthropomorphic bird like this for some time. A cardinal based figure would be my first choice.

Ugh. Ok, from 7th Kingdom I own 1 of the cows, 2 elephants, a hippo, a warthog, and a rhino. And they're all pretty cool and really well done.

But I AM SO SICK of realistic-animal-heads-on-anthropomorphic-bodies figures. At least make it a more imaginative interpretation like 200X Clawful or Whiplash. Sigh. I really hope they don't put another character like this in next year's voting.

    Cool.

I think a cardinal would look great, but I'd also like to see a hawk and an owl. Prefereably the owl would be a different sculpt with more of a clergical/scholarly look to him.

surprise. the anthropomorphosized animal wins. it may SAY gothitropolis, but this is about as close to 7th kingdom as they could have gotten.
