Those fiendish Hong Kong sellers have struck again…this time giving us a preview of He-Ro. I won’t link to the auction (I don’t want to encourage them), but it’s not hard to find.
A couple things of note:
- The gem is red, not green, although we knew this was coming.
- There’s a heavily stylized Grayskull emblem on the back of the cape
All in all, I can’t wait for this fig.
The logo on his cape is pretty sweet.
I cannot wait for this figure.
Also….you mentioned that the stone is Red and not Green, and that we knew that was coming.
I thought there was going to be three different stone colors, with green being the most abundant. Is this still the case?
@Dwaltrip: Yeah, that's all I meant–that we already knew there would be more than just the green or clear or whatever it was we saw in the prototype.

…I'm going to have to pass on He-Ro. Not too interested on the design…he's a wizard but he looks like an aerobics instructor. I can't place it but I can't see him fitting the rest of the motuc.

No actually now I can place it! With the headband and the staff and the get up…he looks like a lead 80's rock star band leader!
The staff is what I like about the figure but with He Ro it looks like a giant golden microphone.
If they took the headband off and added armor for his thighs..the design would be very very cool for me!
Call me an Old-reactionary and extremely slow on the uptake but somehow this figure eschews the rugged, straightforward manliness of MOTU and looks just a wee bit disco inferno….I may be mistaken…..
First 4H created figure I don't want, kind of sad in a way. But good in that for once I wont get caught up in the madness of trying to get hold of one.
I'm planning on getting him. If yew 'old farts don't want him, that just means less competition for me! He-Ro is like the Holy Grail for a lot of MOTU collectors. Granted, he doesn't hold a ton of nostalgia value, but its still pretty cool to finally get a toy version of a 20+ year old concept. I think he looks good, no maybe he won't fit in next to He-Man or Beatman or whatever, but I think the new line that they wanted to include him in would have gone in a completely different direction. Its like with Transformers, posing a G1 toy with Beast Wars and Energon, they don't really meld well together. Okay, I don't think this will be that bad, but I hope I made my point.
I don't know if anyone else noticed, but the Wonder Twins w/ Gleek are also listed too. I'm surprised He-Ro is selling "buy it now" so cheap!
Actually He-Ro being from the Preternia era would lead to his look. Since preternia was rumored to be more advanced he would have a less rugged, barbaric. He has a more technological look fitting with the time.
It's funny that the old-reactionaries are passing on him, because, well, he's from the '80s.
Matty must be spying on me…he looks just like me….fare enough he dosen't have as much muscle…but he has got an 80's rocker style, a bit of a mullet and a head band….he should have come with interchangeable heads, bearded and non-bearded.
Also is his cape plastic or cloth, I like cloth capes of figures.
He kind of looks like Nathan Fillion. Just a little.
Probably the one and only figure left for me to get in this line for this year at least. Barring any amazing revelations about the final 2 other figures aside from Teela.

I think also comes with a unique power sword.

dudes, these "leaks" are too consistant and too regular for me to buy that it's still one guy, walking out w/ the door w/ the first packaged proto… i'm trying really hard to be a conspiracy theorist here, but if we get to webstor and this shit is still happening… but come on now, what is this, the 5th figure that "leaked" early? that's not a leak, that's a deluge.
One interesting thing to note is that I don't think a single figure has leaked (via eBay, at least) that we didn't already know about.
