  • Kind of weird that they're not saving that for the eventual release of 2002 He-Man.

  • ARE YOU F**KIN' KIDDING MEEEEEEEEE?????

I am soooo pissed at this? What the hell is this shit? That's so lame.

Might as well give Triklops' secret accessory :skeletor's sword

and hell….why not go all out and include a bunch of 2002 weapons for ALL the motu classics

SON OF BITCH! I thought it was going to be a build a figure part of Ram Man or some BAF!

    I'm PISSED!

This is the LAMEST news I've heard from mattel this year by far.

  • Guess this means they DEFINITELY will not do the 2002 versions. I'm actually cool with that but still.

L-A-M-E Mattel! Secret accessory my ass. How POINTLESS is this? Ridiculous!

  • It makes sense because the original idea behind the 2002 power sword was that it was a high-tech item Man-At-Arms built because Skeletor had seized both halves of the original Power Sword, thus precluding Prince Adam transforming into He-Man.

And seriously, why bitch? This means the figure is coming with lots of cool accessories.

  • What waste of plastic…another gun or blaster man…..they couldn't do that?

I wish Mattel would explain why they made that the secret accessory. I mean seriously…just for amusement.

Here's my list of ideas of the secret accessory:

    baf part

a 2002 MAN AT ARMS BLASTER would've made sense

    screech

    orko

ANYTHING that's not an accessory from a previous line….geeeeeeez

  • oh and that MAA's story was the 2002 version. I see what your saying IF the 2002 sword came with the 2002 MAA.

  • Ok…nevermind…just read the bio. This is a Mix of both Classics and 2002 MAA.

I didn't mind the bio's mixing both eras but the figures and weapons don't match.

The 80's looking heman does not fit the 2002 sword…at least in my opinion.

Sorry for the rant, but its because I'm a fan and expected better.

  • I think they could've included something cooler myself! I hate that power sword! BLAH!

  • Jesus Christ, Man-At-Arms comes with a whole slew of stuff, & now this too, & still people find a way to bitch. No one's ever happy with anything. Stop collecting the fucking line & save yourself the bloody grief. KEE-REYST!

  • What i don't understand are people that say "don't like it…don't collect it" They're commenting because they're fans. It's like can you really tell someone…

"Stop bitching about that last Brave and the Bold episode"…Don't like it? NEver watch it again!"

    lol

    Seriously, that doesn't make sense.

Fans are always going to make both good and bad comments.

If you too negative or too positive about a line, I don't think that's normal.

  • I gotta side with Mario on this one. He's already coming with a ton of accessories, and now Matty is giving us something extra, and people still bitch & moan.

I have to admit, I am a little puzzled, but hey, if they want to give us more bang for our buck, let 'em! Its puzzling that they included the iPowerSword in his bio. It seems like they're trying to carve their own Verse, taking into account all canon. I know from the start they've come out and said that we all can just make up our own minds about it though. Also, I'm curious why they didn't give him a last name, he's just Duncan. Going from Hec-tor Kur to just Duncan is a little weird.

  • @PrfktTear: I knew you would. It's cool. People are always going to bitch and moan. A lot of ppl at heman.org are so it's a normal thing. As someone on the org said…ya can't bash a fellow fan just because he wanted something better.

Mattel on the other hand listens to the fans and I suspect all the fans of this secret accessory…even if they do like this sword, would rather have had something a lot cooler.

  • Haha… I have to admit, if I could have a choice, I would have gone with Orko. I don't see them doing a solo release with the little guy, and he would have been perfect to pair up with MAA. Even if he was something similar to Hasbro's Superhero Squad and Robot/Galactic/Combat Heroes, or just a solid piece of plastic, I think that would have been cool. It'd be cool if they gave him a stand or something like with the Doomseeker so he appears to be floating. I liked Orko, but the figure didn't really do much, and since I got him second hand, I didn't get him with the rip-cord that made him spin.

  • At the very least, you have to at least appreciate the effort and think of the "bonus" accessories as "easter eggs" or whatever, sort of like a thank you. If they're willing to give us MORE for the same price, then let 'em! I like Stratos, but I was a little disappointed that he came with no accessories. I know some would argue to lower the pice a buck or two instead of throwing in stuff they don't want, but I think thats a mute point.

  • @prfkttear: You're right…if it's an extra, your right. I guess I just had my hopes up for a BAF part or something like his blaster…orko or screech.

  • Seriously though, the only reason you're upset is because you got your hopes up on what the "secret accessory" would be. Mattel did nothing to hint that any of your guesses were correct.

Would it have been better if there was no secret accessory, so that we wouldn't get any of the things you suggested OR the sword?

  • @Scott: I dont think it would've been better…I just think the secret accessory is pointless. Maybe because there was so much hype and talk of it being anything other than a 2002 powersword. Any pvc 4horsemen creation, any new weapon, a baf part, orko..was the majority of everyone's predictions.

This was just totally unexpected. Seeing it from Prfkttear's stand point…ok…I'll be fine with that. But I think they would've made the figure itself a lot more interesting if they included a more predictable accessory.

  • ********EDIT**********

Any pvc 4horsemen creation of some little Eternian animal or somemthing lol…that's what i meant

  • It is pretty, cool especially for those who have King Greyskull.

A weapon is the only nod we need towards the 2002 line….time to move on and go back to the 80's, the best and most successful MOTU line.

  • i also beleive people are over reacting to the power sword reveal. there were prototypes on ebay so we had an inkling of what the accessory would be.

I just think that some people had other ideas of what they "hoped" the secret would be.

I know that I wanted it to be a BAF part or orko BUT i knew i would be HAPPY with anything since it is an EXTRA they didnt need to include.

i actually LOVE the bio and the fact that they are melding dif canons(i.e. i am excited about decker! they could make him clamp champ!) and there is nothing in the bio that i hate unlike other bios such as hordak's real name.

i think we should all RELAX and be HAPPY with mattel putting in extras like this that they dont have to.

they are toys and they should bring us joy not head aches.

  • Jim, I wasn't pin-pointing you specifically, & I'll admit that I got off on the wrong foot today, but my main point was just that we should just be happy that we are getting these FANTASTIC toys in the first place.

Everyone's definitely entitled to their opinion, & I would never want to take that away from anyone, I just find that alot of fans are losing sight of the bigger picture these days, & this is a great example of it. That's all.

Personally, I don't even care for the sword, & was never a fan of the 200X stuff, but still, I like that Mattel, regardless of what the surprises are, are doing this kind of stuff for us.

& again, Jim, sorry for the lash out.

  • @Mario and Everyone: Actually, I'd like to personally apologize to MARIO and EVERYONE….I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today…wierd…didn't sleep well.

I admit I'm not happy with the sword but after rereading my comments, they were an over reaction.

Again, to MARIO and EVERYONE….I hope you all can accept my sincerest apologies! :)

Oh and I just saw UP and Terminator!

I recommend UP and Terminator was ok, I suppose. Check "UP" out though! :D

  • I'll take any swords you guys don't want. Will pay for shipping of course! :-)

  • Wow Jim! Wrong side of the bed or not, you really should start taking a time out or counting to 10 or something BEFORE you post. :D

I like the 200X sword. I think it's great that people who have King Grayskull can now give him the sword that's proper for the era he came out of. The Four Horsemen are always looking out for fans. Mattel said they give them leeway on the design of each figure, and it shows.

I just wish Mattel would do something about these bios. I'm not a fan. And this real name business seems out of control.

I love everything about this line that the Four Horsemen are responsible for. AKA: the toys.

I'm on the fence, leaning towards not liking, everything else which Mattel is responsible for: bios, real names, packaging, hiring of Digital River, etc

Why is Mattel always always at the heart of the problems on their own toy line? :D

It's like everyone BUT Mattel knows what is best for MOTU.

  • The way I see it, this Power Sword belongs to King Greyskull. It's the sword he should have had in the first place.

I'm hoping that going forward ALL the figures will have a bonus accessory that either eliminates a past transgression, has some historic importance, or would piecemeal a weapons pack.

Webstor's bonus accessory should be his rifle in grey. Someone should come with Beast Man's gear in yellow or Zodac's stuff in black. That would be amazing.

After KG's sword, what other stuff should the previous figures have come with? The first one that comes to mind is Faker should have a shield and an axe!

  • Those of you who have said this sword is for King Grayskull, I think you're exactly right. That's who I'll be giving it to, as it bugs me that he has the same weapons as He-Man.

  • oh and the triklops secret accessory sucks…it's cool how it comes with the grayskull ring but I wonder how many ADULT Collectors are going to walk around with that thing. :D

  • @Jim, I will….I will be even cooler looking than I am now (which is very cool)….just when I think I couldn't get any cooler.

On a more serious note I just made short of £700 selling of a good bit of my collection…..going to list some more items next week….some of the Transformers A and B list.

@PrfktTear, had to let all my Animated toys go….have to relist Bulkhead and Megatron though. Have to list a lot of G1 still also.

I now have no MOTU 200x toys at all.

  • @Mark

I sold almost all of my MOTU 200x, I couldn't part with all of it. I'm down to just 8.

  • i'm going the opposite route of noisy… grayskull laying eyes on he-man carrying that "thing" will set him OFF!!! how dare he-man or MAA circumvent the power of the rightful king of eternia!!

but i'm very much looking for to it too, just for other reasons!

also of note, the horsemen indicated on the motuc boards that this sword does bare some sneaky differences to the previous 200X power sword releases, so even those who have the figures or the stactions don't have THIS sword. cuz they rock like that.

lastly, who has two thumbs and will definitely be wearing his grayskull ring… bob kelso!!

  • Meh. I didn't like that sword then, and I don't like it now. It looks like a spider or a tick or something. Gross.
