I saw GI Joe today, only paid $5.75 at my neighborhood theatre. Gotta say, I enjoyed it. It was exactly like it should have been, an over-the-top live-action cartoon. Sure, Snake Eyes' lips bugged me, and Baroness' lack of accent was annoying (but given the story would have been out of place). I enjoyed it a hell of a lot more then Transformers 2. Not once did I look at the time, or fidgit in my seat or anything. I'd go as far as saying I'd see it again in theatres (matinee price of course).

    see.. clark gets it!

it was like a cartoon…all i needed was a bowl of cereal in front of me to make me feel like a 9 year old again!…so awesome

cinematic masterpiece it was not…but not everything needs to be the dark knight

Just got back from seeing it. It was a horrible movie, but I still found it enjoyable. My wife really liked it. I don't feel like my childhood was corrupted or anything because of it, in fact it was very much like a cartoon. All in all, it was okay, but I don't need to see it again.

Sorry, this looks like ass. I'll wait for it to be on telly.

I am planning on seeing this at some point. Most likely not this weekend. Despite everything I've read about it on Topless Robot and other sites, I'm trying my best to go into this film with as much of an open mind as I can.

I am filled with dread. I wish I was excited about this movie, but I just can't quite bring myself to be.

Thanks for the COSTCO tip… Have to check that out.

But, will it save the film? LOL!

I haven't been to Costco in a while, but I believe mine does. The last time I went to a National Amusement Showcase Cinema the tickets were $10+. Needless to say I haven't been there for quite a while.

Unless its a film that I want to see in IMAX or digital, I head to my neighborhood theatre, you can't beat $5.50 for a matinee. No its not stadium seating, its about 20 years old, and they don't have state-of-the-art equipment, but there are also no lines, no crowded theatres, no having to hunt for parking, or having to park a half a mile away, and no having to go down to sub-level 27 to get to your theatre, its all on one floor.

I miss the theatres that you could go see second run movies for $2.

Check your local Costco to see if they have Regal Cinema movie passes for sale. The ones here in the DC area have them in pairs for $15 each and they are good on any film, even the ones that say no passes.

Saving $6 may not seem like much, but that's 75% of an average G.I. Joe figure.

I have been up in the air about seeing this. It just looks terrible. In many ways I'm sure it will suck… But part of my inner child says to go see it. So maybe I will drag the wife the movies this weekend. And spend $20 bucks and loose two hours of my life.
