I’m running pretty cold on Star Wars toys, but thanks to the OAFE.net forums I was recently made aware of a must have Star Wars vehicle. Behold, the new, Wal-Mart Exclusive AT-ST (on the right):

I need one so bad it hurts. For those not really into Star Wars, this is a big deal because this is the first AT-ST that’s closer in scale with the figures. The original could only fit one figure in the cockpit (head) and this one can fit two. It also boasts some other nifty features like opening view ports and much closer to movie accurate guns. It even comes with an AT-ST driver in case you don’t have enough in your collection to drive this puppy. Finally, in order to stage the best Endor battle possible, you can pose this sucker to have super wobbly legs!

What I find funny is that I’m much more open to Clone Wars stuff than most people I know who like Star Wars, but there’s just nothing like the excitement I get when there’s a new toy based on the original trilogy coming out that I want. It really touches that super nerd in me. I think that if Hasbro were to announce a much larger AT-AT I may go through puberty again. Anyway, be sure to check out the rest of the pics on Rebelscum.com.

Star Wars ain't my thing, but that's a pretty cool toy. Could use a little weathering, but the poseability seems much better than the old one.
I can not wait for this. My old one is busted and won't stand up straight. This is like replacement x20awesomes.
Definitely looking forward to these. I don't collect too much Star Wars stuff, but AT-ATs and AT-STs have been staples of my Cobra army for years.
BAH… now I want one… once again, I am prey to the lack of wal-marts in the city.. guess I'll have to do without
I don't like Star Wars so much, but this thing looks pretty cool. The robot-creature style w/ drivers inside is always cool.
It's probably pricey, eh?
I saw the Clone Wars Y-Wing this morning and had to fight myself to not take it home. That, and this new AT-ST, are the two coolest Star Wars vehicles I've seen this year.
(The Clone Turbo Tank doesn't count since I don't have anywhere near the room required to own that thing. But it is amazing.)
This is on my must get list.
Never been a huge Star Wars fan, but I've always really like the AT-AT for some reason. I just might pick this up, depending on price.
I'm happy for those of you who want this, because it's a well executed toy.
However, this kind of reminds me why I got out of collecting Star Wars about two years ago. Just like the Special Editions and the very Special Editions a few years later when they came out on DVD, Star Wars cannot be left well enough alone. I toiled for years to build a complete Star Wars collection from POTF2 on, but then the scale was corrected, everything was updated, and it made what I had worked so hard to collect for so many years seem utterly obsolete. If you were to start collecting now, it's a great time to do it, but for me, I just feel helpless to these constant revisions.
Wow, I really wish I had the cash and space to store the new Original Trilogy stuff, because if I did, I would pick this up and the larger Millennium Falcon that they did.
Any one know if they will be updating the Speeder bikes from Jedi like they have done with this? Because those I would pick up and display.
'Tis very cool!
I love the original movies (not really a fan of the prequels), but my collection of figures is very small. I got the Millenium Falcon last year and it's one of the best vehicles/playsets/toys ever released IMO.
I might actually be tempted by this…
sooooo when does this come out? i kinda totally want one…i've been waiting for that lone original trilogy rancor at target to go on clearance (seriously it took like 2 days for the battle rancors to get marked down…wtf man), but this guy actually seems worth the dough. as a kid the AT-ST was one of my fave vehicles, but its shortcomings stood out. opening viewports, room for two, accurate "ear" weapons…yeah i may just have to plunk down the $40. wish the paint was a little more weathered though.
I love the update on this Episode VI classic. As a major Imperial collector this is a must for me A couple of gripes I have is that it only comes with one figure and it is not battery operated so it can walk on it's own.
But these are small gripes. I will at least get one, if not two of these anyway. But I will have to look for another modern At St Pilot "prohaps from one of the 30th collection ultimate battle packs" or pick up Han Solo as an AT ST Driver
