OK, so when it comes to videogame-based figures, DC Direct isn’t exactly gaining a reputation for striking when the iron is hot (their Mass Effect 2 figures are due out in August, while their God of War line drops in November). But still, the news that we’re getting an action figure line based on Batman: Arkham Asylum should make many a geek dance around in their vintage Underoos with joy.
From the Previews description for ToyFare #156, due out in June:

Hell. yes. This is great news, it was only a matter of time before figures were made. DC Direct is putting out a Batman Black & White statue based on the AA design this fall.
Given that I have ZERO Batmen among my collection I'll be picking this line up.

Cool… if you’re a fan of the game. I’m sort of Batman’d out… just seem to be an over abundance these days… at least of DCUC Batman. Maybe these will be superior to them. I’ve got my TRU Exclusiv Black and Gray Bats with the Black Bat Symbol, so I’m all set for a while… until they do Zebra Batman.

yeah, i've been one of the guys clamoring for AA style figs now since playing the game… the style and presentation of those characters were awesome… but i don't trust DC direct to make a decent toy if i was holding their collective spouses hostage. the marvel select figs win every time, usually in design and always in articulation… oh well, DC just saved me a boatload of cash. cuz for arkham… REAL figures from arkham asylum? i'd have bought in to the whole line-up.

I've purchased exactly one DC Direct figure (Sinestro Corps Sinestro) and I was unimpressed enough to give it to a buddy for free. The lack of articulation and the fact that most of them seem to require stands to stay vertical is a turn off.
Having said that…I do think I'm going to break down and get Larfleeze. He's sort of twistedly adorable.

Great game but I would like these figures be made by NECA since they got the current gen unreal engine graphics characters down pat.

Fantastic news! Its nice that DC Direct is doing these, as they will do the figures justice in terms of the sculpt. I really want a nurse Harley Quinn and Scarecrow from this line!
I assume these would be in the typical DC Direct scale of 6-7.7 inches, rather than in their 5 inch scale like their other video game lines.

I can't get excited about this. The design is great but I gone off DC Direct big style. The sculpts are usually lovely but the lack of articulation and the fact that a great deal of my DCD figures have suffered from disintergrating/breaking joints has put me off buying any new product. Having said that I MAY be tempted by the Battle for the Cowl Jason Todd Batman, we'll have to see.
I'd love to know if DCUC has put a dent in DCD's sales or caused them to up their game at all…
