The Goofiest MOTU Commercial Ever

…and let me tell you, MOTU commercials know from goofy. But this one…well, you’ll just have to watch it for yourself.

I don’t know whether to feel sorry for the announcer (who I believe is Victor Caroli, who did a lot of these ’80s boys’ toys commercials–and the narration to Transformers: the Movie), or to respect him for being willing to rap a disclaimer. Still, I have to believe there was a lot of laughing in the recording booth for this one.

P-p-p-p-p-power, Master Power. Some guys got it, some guys don’t.

  • There were several MOTU rapping commercials. I can't see this at work because youtube is blocked so I can't tell what commercial this is for, but I know the Spydor commercial was one and at least 2 others. What is this one?

I felt it necessary to spoof the epic LandShark commercial in a recent review I did on BattleCat.

  • @Crazy: This is the Spydor one. I heard about it because it was referenced in He-Man.org's "Roast Gooble" podcast and has since become a running joke.

  • I remember this campaign. It was near the end, wasn't it? My favorite is definitely the one at the beach.

I think these ads were part of why I stopped being interested in MOTU back in the day.

  • @PrfktTear: I think you need something ridiculous like Jimmy Fallon's writers for those commercials nothing gets cornier than them.

  • i swear that is peter cullen's voice. he did ALOT of the commercials for ALOT of toylines….

    optimus prime rapping….awesome!!

  • Mine would be a parody of this vintage Battle Armor He-Man commercial, and every time Beastman hits He-Man, the kid has to stop play and change out the panels. -Or- comically, have a screen saying "forty seconds later" with some of that elevator music playing in the background… and for every subsequent hit, you'd go back to that same schtick.

  • The one rap commercial in the beach has "Keno" from the movie TMNT 2 :secret of the ooze.
