The SDCC pre-sale opens up at 12pm ET. Will this work? I have no idea. Fingers crossed, I guess. Those of you pre-ordering, feel free to report back here.

With such a smaller population trying to do these pre-sale orders, I am curious to know if the WSOD will make an appearance. Also, how quickly their allocated stock will sell out.
Ugh…you mean I gotta do this $@!# twice this week?
Ha. The WSOD has a mini countdown to when it will refresh now.
Unending WSOD here too
orko is sold out already
So is Plastic Man.
Got two Orkos and Plastic Man for my buddy and I plus Starro and Mo-Larr for me by 9:05. WSOD for every page but got through.
You may live Matty.
For now.
The sale for plastic man didn't start until 9:02, moved quickly through to billing phase then had 8 minutes of WSOD.
Bought 6 plastic men, one each for myself and five friends. If this works and I don't have a HUGE wait while going to pick these up, this beats the hell out of waiting in line at Comic Con.
I was able to get Plastic Man, Starro (yes!), and Mo-Larr but got screwed on Orko.
I suppose as a consolation I could always get the AVATAR set…. cause who doesn't want that
You know, the number of people trying to log on today must have been only a fraction of the number who usually log in on a regular sale day–total guess here, maybe 1/3rd the amount–and Digital River's servers still couldn't handle the load. Just sad.
@Poe:
Not sure about that, the 1/3 part, because they had a lot of exclusives available simultaneously, not just the MOTUC DC stuff. Also SDCC is HUGE, the lines for exclusives are always terribly HUGE and I'm betting people are picking up larger amounts for friends, so more clicking around and traffic.
Plus convention exclusives are usually at a premium and people remember the gleek fiasco. The good news is that Mo-lar is still available…
I'm curious, how many are usually in attendance at SDCC?
@PrfktTear
126,000 paid attendance. Add a few thousand more for exhibitors, volunteers and security. Some estimate the total at 140,000.
@PrfktTear:
I think the number is around 140k. There had to be over a thousand people in Mattys line on preview night. At least. The line snaked about ten times and stretched half way down the convention hall.
wow… thats a MASSIVE number… i figured maybe like ten or twenty thousnad… i know this is THE premier comic/movie/tv/toy/whatever convention of the year but I didn't fully appreciate the scope of it.
Well, got some good news today… Your Club Eternia Subscription has renewed for Masters of the Universe 2010 Subscription – July Figure.
I have to agree with Poe; the traffic should have been a fraction of a normal sale day. Sure, the Comic Con audience is huge, but it has to be a small subset of the total action figure-collecting community*. Although maybe my perception is skewed because I know more folks who collect than I know folks who are fortunate enough to go to San Diego.
*also keep in mind that not all of the 140K at the Con collect action figures.
@Poe: Gotta agree with you. I think the 1/3 estimate it probably right. I didn't even think about going to that site today. Why would I? I'm not going to SDCC.
The number of people going to SDCC is paltry compared to the number of people who normally order a MOTUC. I mean, you figure pretty much all of Europe (which is a big source for MOTUC) was out of today's rat race.
Just absurd.
Six and a half hours later and Mo-Larr is still available, as is everything else except Orko, Plastic Man and Starro.
I can't help but wonder how many people are buying Starro for he and the spores and selling off the Infinite Heroes figures. Because I'm planning on doing exactly that. :-p
Wow. I can only imagine they WAY underestimated their customer interest, as always.
even with all of the MOTU/DCUC collectors, vendors, and other misc. people going to sdcc that actually collect toys, I find it unlikely that ALL of them would know or care about the voucher system.
Anyone else notice how the page just kept loading, and not just the "waiting page"? If you couldn't type everything you needed to type in 5 seconds you were in trouble.
Tried to get an Orko for a friend of mine that can't make it to SDCC, but I was stuck on the white screen 'o death until it refreshed to sold out. The voucher would have been nice because those comic-con lines are just horrendous.
Plus, anyone who has been to SDCC is super motivated to get these and that includes a group that hasn't been talked about yet — SCALPERS! SDCC is a SCALPER-RAMA with exclusives being sold for much more than their normal price moments after they are purchased.
I would guess that with press, exhibiters, various riff raff who sneak in using others badges, etc, you might be talking 160 thousand people and a significant number of those are figure collectors who will trample an old lady to get an exclusive.
The lines for figures are always the longest except for the Twilight folk and the figure collectors are always the worst when it comes to patience.
As a person who has been going to SDCC since ’98 and fought countless Exclusive Line battles, TRUST ME – anybody who cares about exclusive figures follows them online and looks/hopes/jumps on any voucher program. The lines are that bad and the sellouts hurt that much. I gaurantee anyone going to the con that wanted an Orko, etc., was on Matty this morning.
At this point I've come to terms with the fact that I'll be using eBay. Not going to Comic Con this year (never have anyway), nor will I have enough money in time. I have to say, knowing that I need to use eBay anyway relives a lot of stress.
@americanhyena: The Kevin Conroy voiced packaging is the reason a lot of people are buying the set.
I expected this of Mo-Larr. The fandom wasn't really all that accepting of him. I was going to get him, mainly for the dentist equipment and the havoc staff, but I want Plastic Man too bad to risk getting two figures when they're on Mattycollector. Besides he's already confirmed for a rerelease on Adult Swim's online store so hopefully I can just grab one then.
I envy all of you who can go to the con. I really do hate dealing with that site.
