Joe Amaro Brings The Manta Raider to Power-Con

You may recall Joe Amaro teaming up with vintage He-Man packaging artist Rudy Obrero to create a MOTU-themed vehicle called the Manta Raider. Well, Joe’s got some good news for those who wished they could get their own:

At the He-Man.org Power Party I finally got a chance to sit down and talk to Rudy Obrero face to face.

At the party Rudy told me that he wants to make the Manta Raider available to the fans!!! I need to figure out the logistics and price but it will be a very very limited run, definitely under 100. We talked about having it in some type of packaging so we can use Rudy’s awesome painting!

The plan right now is to have it ready for Power Con in September. Rudy will have a table there with some prints for sale. Best of all you can have all the items signed by Rudy!

Note: This is just a fan project and not associated, licensed or in any way affiliated with Mattel or Masters of the Universe.

  • This is extremely kick a**! I'm bummed that it's going to be such a limited release, but I can completely understand why. I'm sure fans will be battling it out for this item at Power Con, especially since it doesn't look like we'll be getting another vehicle in MOTUC.

  • Under 100? That's insane! Heaps of people are going to want one of these!!

  • It really sucks that there is virtually no chance for me to get one of these.

  • i'd be more intrigued if the hammer were already out, and there was positive word of mouth on the cost vs quality, that kind of thing. not that the vehicle itself doesn't look nice, it does, but i'm not even considering the scramble for this thing. not even a blip on the radar.

  • I’m extremely excited for this, but disappointed knowing I won’t get one.

Any chance of a second run after the con for online sales?

  • Thank you everyone! Remember these are all hand crafted, not manufactured, so I can only make so much. This is by far the most ambitious project I have ever done! The plan is to have it available at Power Con at Rudy Obrero's booth. It's not a Power Con exclusive, that's just where we will have it first. We do plan on offering it again online. The response has been really awesome, Rudy and I could not be happier! The second run of Hammers will go out first though. 😉
