Poe and I have many things in common. We’re both incredibly sexy, we both can bench 300 pounds, and we both love the old Kenner Robocop line from the late ’80s. For today’s show and tell I pulled my beloved Robocop line out of storage to both share and educate. First up is the regular old Robocop:

Good old Peter Weller here has the classic five points of articulation, features a removable helmet, and a stupid cap firing mechanism on his back. He’s also supposed to have a gun that plugs into the side of his leg. It’s one of my favorite features and unfortunately I lost the gun. It was one of my biggest toy accessory losses I had as a kid.

Even better than the standard Robocop is this guy:

Oh yeah, here’s one of the coolest toys I’ve ever owned. There’s two reasons for his greatness. First, he’s glow in the dark. That’s always cool. Secondly, he’s got a friggen gun arm! GUN ARM! I did manage to keep the sidearm to this one though, so it softened the loss of the regular Robocop’s pistol a tad.

I only owned one vehicle from the line (I still need that damned helicopter), but the one I had was super sweet. It’s the Robo 1 cop car:

What was great about this cop car is that it fit into almost all of my toy worlds. It worked as a cool Joe cop car, a neat-o Star Wars vehicle, and much more. I’m missing the missile launcher that was on top of mine, but I preferred it off anyway. A lot of the stickers are held down with scotch tape, because they didn’t hold on so well. It’s probably too much to hope that someone made repro labels for this thing?

Finally, another crown jewel in my toy collection is this ED-260:

He’s so awesome. Just like the car, he fit into many of my play worlds. Sometimes he even doubled as a vehicle like a smaller AT-ST. I don’t know why they called him ED-260 and not 209, but I guess he’s a better model. Maybe he’s not as dumb as the movie version. Either way, he’s pretty sweet.
