Ah, Odds ‘n Ends. Whenever I can’t think of a single interesting thing to write about, you’re there to fill the void with your inane babbling.

• So, as of right now, here’s how I stand with my Mattycollector orders from last week. My non-subscription order of 2 Teelas, which I made when it looked like my subscription order wasn’t going to happen, has been shipped and will be here tomorrow. My other non-sub order featuring 1 Teela, 2 Zodaks, and 3 6″ Rays has shipped and will be here Monday. My actual sub order, which I tried to cancel after making the 2 Teelas order but was re-created by Mattycollector anyway, has not shipped yet. Also, I haven’t actually been charged for anything. There were some temporary authorizations for all three orders, but all vanished.
• If you haven’t seen it, Figures.com has had a major site revamp. It looks like they’re going the Newsarama route, with the articles being forum posts. The really good news is that the site loads a lot faster now. I have to admit, I stopped visiting Figures years ago due to the slow loading and glut of ads. Will this be enough for Figures.com to once again give TNI a run for its money? Too early to tell, but I can say that Figures.com has always been my first stop for convention coverage–their galleries are usually the best.
• If you haven’t seen them yet, check out Spy Monkey Creations’ very cool custom figure weapons which, though they can’t really come out and say it, are obviously intended for MOTUC. I hope to review a couple in the near future, but just from other reviews they look pretty damned awesome.
• Mattel has rather mystifyingly opened up another webstore, MattelShop.com. Speculation about what this means for Mattycollector is already running rampant: is DR running this too? Or will MC become a satellite site of MattelShop (if it isn’t already)? How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie-Roll Pop?
• I’m having absolutely zero luck tracking down a reasonably-priced NECA Altair. I never should have started playing Assassin’s Creed. I’m just so impressionable.
• For some reason, I can’t stop watching this. I even want the MP3. I think the song is pretty catchy, actually. Reminds me of Toejam & Earl.
