Toy Aisle Trolls is a feature highlighting acts of vandalism to in-store toy items. If you find a ruined package, a stolen figure, a swapped-out figure, or any other such acts, take a photo (cell phone photos are fine if they’re not blurry) and email them to poe@poeghostal.com.

Another swapped Ratchet. He’s supposed to look like this. Ratchet’s an interesting character…nothing more than the equivalent of a D&D Cleric in the 1980s cartoon, while practically the hero of the first dozen or so issues of the Marvel comic at the same time (particularly the Dinobots issue, #8, which I probably read a hundred times as a kid). He also got melded with Megatron and turned into this.
Anyway, whoever did this needs to get a life. –PG
BigBadToyStore has posted two pre-orders I’ve been waiting for:
Fall of Cybertron Grimlock. If this website had a slightly different tone, this is where I’d type “**** AND YES.”
Finally. I haven’t even played the videogame yet (want to, though), but I know I need this toy. The vintage Grimlock remains my favorite toy of all time, and to be honest I’ve never found any of the later versions to be the Millennium MOTU-style “revamp” I wanted (Classics Grimlock was close, but no cigar). I think this one might be it. I’ll have to wait until I get it, though.
I must admit there’s a part of me that’s very tempted to start buying all the Fall of Cybertron toys because it’s a self-contained, in-scale(?) sub-line. I’ve already got Shockwave, though I still need to open and review him. On the other hand: money.
Anyway, the BBTS pre-order page is here. You can also get Blaster if you’re so inclined.
Next up:
So let me get this straight. In the next six months, I will own fully-articulated Dutch, Predator, Hicks, Hudson, and Alien Warrior figures. The only thing I need now is a way to somehow transport these back to 1989 to give them to my childhood self.
I can’t tell you how damn happy I am that the Alien has mid-foot joints. Anyway, order page is here.
EDIT: Bill Paxton sure did approve that likeness, thus confirming his status as an awesome dude.

Here’s some new grist for the rumor mill, courtesy MTV Geek: Disney may be in talks to buy Hasbro, thereby picking up some big brands like G.I. Joe, Transformers, and My Little Pony.
It’s just a rumor at this point, but does anyone else think – if this turns out to be at all true – that it’s all happening a little too fast? First Disney buys Marvel, then Lucasfilm, and now Hasbro? The crossover fan in me (and I’m a big crossover fan – it’s my weakness) is imagining all sorts of cool possibilities, but as someone who’s skeptical that giant corporations are a good thing for the world in general, the idea of one company owning so many different geek properties is vaguely troubling to me. What do you think? Would this be a good or bad thing?
As reported earlier here, PGPoA Power Pal and all-around gentleman Phil Reed of Battlegrip.com is running a Kickstarter project for a book on third-party Transformers, Transforming Collections. The deadline for the project’s latest stretch goal is September 30. We sat down with Phil (by which I mean I sent him a few questions via email) to find out more about the project.

PGPoA Power Pal Phil Reed has a new project up on Kickstarter – a book titled Transforming Collections. It’s already been funded, but you’ve still got several weeks to throw in some money yourself to get a copy.
But what’s it about, you ask?
