Show and Tell > A few neat toy finds
One of my favorite stores in the Boston area is Comicazi in Somerville. The back room of the store is filled wall-to-wall with MOC vintage toys, from Star Wars to Star Trek to Simpsons to racks and racks of old Marvel and DC stuff, plus plenty of old Kenner figures. I went in yesterday to pick up a MOC Kenner Aliens Bishop and the Kenner Alien/Predator set (mission accomplished, by the way, but more on that later). On a side note, Comicazi has a blog, the ToyNerd.
In addition to the MOC toys, Comicazi has bins full of loose figures, and even a big box full of baggies of random accessories. I nabbed a few of those and picked out four pretty awesome loose figures. Whom did I get? (more…)
Poe’s Point > Bleh! I don’t vant Dracula to suck
Halloween may be over, but there’s still plenty of horror to be had.
For instance, here’s some rather bumming news from Diamond Select: according to their latest edition of Ask DST, they haven’t secured the likeness rights to Bela Lugosi. However, they’re still going to do a Dracula figure…just without any specific actor’s likeness. (more…)

Saturday Sponsor Shill Session
I try to maintain a minimal number of ads on this site, but I still do have to pay the bills to keep it running–and maybe make a little money to keep buying the toys you enjoy reading about. I write this blog out of love, but the truth is writing for free sucks and it’s a lot more satisfying if I can get something out of it. (more…)

Poe’s Point Special > Toy Fair 2010
It would be impossible and way too much work for me to cover all the awesome stuff coming out of this year’s Toy Fair. The awesomeness seems to be hearkening back to the good old days of the early 2000s…anyway, instead of trying to list everything, I’m just going to hit the highlights of the stuff I’m excited about. But feel free to use this as the catch-all Toy Fair discussion thread.
Masters of the Universe Classics
Of course we start here. We’ve had hints and suggestions of all the stuff that was revealed, but frankly, I was never really 100% sure we were going to see Tytus or, even more insane, Gy-Gor–who looks much better than I’d imagined he would as a Gorilla Grodd repaint. Anyway, the reveals were:
- Tytus (12″, Q2 bonus figure)
- Gy-Gor (Q3 bonus figure)
- She-Ra (with interchangeable heads and removable tiara) Club Eternia – June)
- Count Marzo (with amulet and sword)- Club Eternia – July
- Keldor (with twin power swords and acid vial) Bonus Figure – TBA
- Whiplash (with classic and 200X heads)- Club Eternia – August
- Mo-Larr & Skeletor Robot Chicken SDCC 2-pack
- Lex Luthor vs. Skeletor 2-pack
- Weapons Pack
Wow. Where to start with all this? (more…)
