MOTUC Bio Discussion #41 > Battle Armor Skeletor

Inspired by He-Man.org’s Roast Gooble Dinner podcast, welcome to PGPoA’s latest MOTUC Bio Discussion!

Battle Armor Skeletor

Real Name: Keldor of the House of Miro

Using dark magic taught by Hordak, Skeletor occasionally creates new forms of armor and weapons to outmaneuver the Masters of the Universe. His Battle Armor was first created to help Skeletor penetrate through the Mystic Wall in order to kidnap Adora and secretly clone the Sorceress of Grayskull. The original armor was destroyed by Oo-larr after three strikes with his mighty battle axe, sending Skeletor back behind the Wall. Skeletor re-formed the armor 20 years later in an effort to combat a similar battle suit now worn by He-Man. Although lacking the mystic qualities of the original, his new armor was stronger and more powerful. Skeletor, Evil Lord of Destruction is now protected by his magic Battle Armor!

It’s amazing just how convoluted this bio manages to be. Skeletor creates the armor not once but twice, the second time re-creating as a response to He-Man’s battle armor. On the plus side, it does focus almost entirely on the battle armor instead of spending too much time on the overall story arc, which many bios have done lately.

As usual, this bio raises as many questions as it answers. We now know that Skeletor created this armor specifically to break through the Mystic Wall, at which point he both kidnapped Adora and cloned the Sorceress–a very busy day for Skullhead, though I suppose he’d been planning all this for a while. But then we learn that he encountered Oo-larr, who proceeded to destroy his armor with three strikes of his axe.

Now, I’m fine with the three-strikes thing–it’s a nice homage to the original armor and its function. But now we know Skeletor encountered Oo-larr long before he met He-Man. So does he think Oo-larr and He-Man are one and the same? Or did he only know Oo-larr as Oo-larr?

Oo-larr’s role in the MOTUC mythos is getting awfully large. For those who have forgotten or never knew in the first place, Oo-larr is evidently the “jungle He-Man” depicted in the earliest mini-comics. At this point he seems like a lock for a figure, it’s just a question of when.
