I’ve been trying to figure out what Tamashii Nations is–evidently they’re “an umbrella label encompassing Japan’s top collectible brands” and, as far as I can tell, they’re run by Bandai.
Anyway, the Tamashii Nations Facebook page has posted new pics of the S.H.MonsterArts Moguera and Baby Godzilla figures. For those who don’t know, S.H.MonsterArts (SHM) is a line of 6″ scale, fully-articulated Godzilla figures. (I’ll be reviewing Godzilla and Mechagodzilla in the near future–once I get through the mass of MOTUC reviews I have on deck.)
I’m not much of a fan of Moguera in either his original look from the 1957 Japanese alien invaders film The Mysterians or his revamped version from Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II SpaceGodzilla, which is the version this figure is based on. But I’m too excited about the SHM line to pass on it, and besides, the accessories look fantastic.
I’m a bit less excited about the accessories pack that is coming for SpaceGodzilla. It will include a figure of Baby Godzilla, whose ridiculous Pokemon-like appearance was not the highlight of GvMcGII.
The set will also come with some crystals for SpaceGodzilla, and the little Godzilla is somewhat adorable, and more importantly, it’s going to be available in the U.S., so it won’t be as expensive as the previous sets. All of which is to say, yeah, I’ll get it.
