I got in my Final Fantasy XIII-2 Play Arts Kai Lightning figure only to find out BOTH her wrists were broken right out of the box. They could be fixed, but because they're tiny little balljoints there's no way to repair them without turning them into simple swivel joints.
My most common Quality Control issues come with Japanese capsule figures. If I had a nickel for every time I got one with missing parts or two left legs, I'd have… well, about forty cents.
Was it a First Release version with the extra accessories? If it was, I hope you get a First Release version sent back to you, otherwise you're also out the extra parts.
A. You should be thankful that Monsterarts is even making these!
B. That's not defective, the toy can still be used!
C. This line is created on a shoestring budget! Monsterarts probably lost their shirts on that figure!
D. That was a stylistic design choice by the design team!
Haha. Just kidding. You know what might be a decent new feature? Finding folks who have had QC issues with toys and evaluating how well the company handled the complaint. I would be interested in reading that.
Old-school McFarlane wins. Back in their first AVP (movie) line, I got a figure that broke out of the package. Called them, and they had a replacement shipped the next day. No need to send mine back, pay, or even provide proof of ownership. They also sent Todd McFarlane himself with a personal apology and a contract to do all my housework for a week. And then came the "Special Benefits"…
Well You better get that thing returned/replaced,thing din't come cheap.I'd probably go in the toyline when they have the GMK or Showa designs up and running.

There hasn't been a second release yet, so he should be safe.

You know you want to.

Tempting…but I've already given the figure back to the person who got it for me as a gift.

Are you sure they arent just rolling around the package or fell in his head?
Poe Ghostal
Yup–I checked. Nothing in the package that I could see, and there's really no room in the head for them to rattle around.
Heli
I always bet on whoever isn't mattycollector.
Ridureyu
Depends. If you're betting on who will have the most QC problems, annoying markup, and server crashes, Mattel is tops in their field!
