Odds ‘n Ends > Outer Space Men, New MOTUC Bios

  • PGPoA sponsor Urban Collectibles has single figures of DC Direct’s Batman Arkham City Series 2 in stock now.
  • The Four Horsemen are now taking pre-orders for their psychedelic Cosmic Creators: Four Horsemen edition of their Outer Space Men figures, along with reissues of the OSM Infinity Edition Waves 1 & 2 with some tweaked paint apps.
  • Mattel posted packaging pics & bios for the Griffin, Snake Man-At-Arms, and Horde Prime. Still can’t say I’m excited for that Griffin. On a side note, if you want to see the secret of Horde Prime’s face, it’s right here.
  • You can also see pics of some of Mattel’s SDCC exclusives, as well as Vykron’s bio, at Action Figure Insider.
  • I was asked to plug Pocket Power Toys, a website devoted to this little-known toy line from Japan that was sold by Tyco here in the U.S. in the 1990s. The creator of the site adds, “Strictly speaking there’s only one action figure in the line (Glo-Bones).”
  • NECA has a Collector’s Club. Did we know this already?
  • I swear to God, if Bluefin Tamashii Nations doesn’t reveal what their S.H. MonsterArts Godzilla SDCC figure is soon instead of teasing us with bits of artwork, I’m going to – just wait longer. Though it might be a wholly-translucent orange “Meltdown” Godzilla, like this one, which would be a profound disappointment that I wouldn’t buy (and yes, I realize there’s some hypocrisy there, since I’ve always said the best con exclusives are repaints – but preferably a somewhat interestingย repaint). I’m hoping there’s a poster of whatever the final artwork is, too.

  1. Okay, so Hordak's older brother looks like… Hordak's older brother would look.

Thanks for posting the link to the Pocket Power Toys! I had the Bowling one as a kid, and I LOVED it! I've spent years trying to figure out what it was called so I can track it down and buy it again. No one was ever able to help me identify it, but there it is on that site! It's a shame it's apparently really hard to find, but at least now I know what line it was from!

    • Hey Pixel Dan, you posted in a thread i made on he-man.org regarding the pocket power bowling last year, but must not have checked back cause i posted the pic of bowling there too! Glad you enjoyed my site ๐Ÿ™‚

D'oh! I must have totally missed your reply there! Sorry about that! I've posted on several message boards over the years asking about that bowling sets, and no one ever seemed to know what I was talking about. Now that I know for sure it's part of the Pocket Power line, I feel like its become one of my Grails. I know tat sounds silly, but I just have fond memories of that toy from when I was a kid. I hope I can find one at some point!
If by some chance I find one before you, I'll make sure to get plenty of photos and video you can use on your site. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Doesn't sound silly at all, fond memories is what gave me the motivation to make the site!
Would be awesome to have one of your videos on the site – I'll be on the lookout for many bowling sets in the hope of finding one for you too ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks man! I really appreciate that! ๐Ÿ˜€

I've bought some SDCC exclusives through NECA, but it has been a few years. Interesting that NECA's own site is selling the Hunger Games figures for 37.99. That's probably at least double retail.

I have to say… I'm rather shocked that you "spoiled" Horde Prime. I think that you're the only guy in town with such info… where'd you turn this up?

    • Uh…right here. That thread has been up on He-Man.org for two weeks.

    • Mario

Oops! I never check the boards at that site, though. I'm surprised that they never "front-paged" it.

    • Dark Angel

They tend not to front-page that kind of thing anymore as a courtesy, even though they get very little courtesy in return…IMO.

    • Mario

      Makes total sense.

    • Kevin

How did he spoil it? He didn't post a picture, just offered a link you had to click on if you wanted to see it lol.

I ordered my Arkham City series 2 from Urban Collectibles. (They were out of Mad Hatter, so I just snagged him from Amazon). The shipping was really high, but the 30% off code made them comparable or a little cheaper than other places. Also snagged all 3 sets of the Coraline mini figures as a surprise for my wife (don't tell her!).

And I am so glad to read about the Power Pocket sets! I had these as a kid and have tried to explain them to others for years! Every now and then pieces pop up in "identify a piece" threads and I can recall the piece and what set it went to, but can never identify the line.

I've got a bunch of the Pocket Power sets..I have 3 Glo-Bones complete (how could you lose parts when they all stored so neatly) since I loved GITD figures as a kid. I had NO idea they are so sought after these days….Crazy….

    • Barbecue17

I think I still have the dagger and the axe for Glo-Bones floating around in an accessory bin somewhere!

Looking at these, I know I had Top Fight, Glo-Bones, and G.I. Supply. Rapid Fire and Indy Racer seem really familiar, also.

  7. I'm glad you plugged Pocket Power. I've been collecting them as I find them. Can you send me direct contact info to the founder? I have some carded Series 3 sets that I'd be willing to contribute pictures of for the website.

    • I'll shoot him an email.

    • Hey Ben, Poe should be passing on my details to you soon, alternatively the site has a contact form that'll reach me directly as well – really hope to hear from you and thanks for the offer!
