Paul’s Peg > Toy Hunt: DC and Marvel Finds

I have a terrible time finding anything I want at retail. I’m not sure if it’s my luck or what, but if there’s a toy I want I’m most likely going to have to work very hard at trying to get it. This last weekend was a bit strange, in the fact that I managed to find a bunch of stuff I wanted. I’m not here to brag about finding toys that everyone else has, but to drop some of my thoughts on my plunder. Now, let’s do this!

DC Universe Classics Wave 9: I was both shocked and amazed that I managed to not see pegs full of Captain Cold at my local Target, but instead I managed to find most of the Wave 9 figures. I picked up a Black Canary for my wife and a Deadshot for me. I’ve heard some complaints about Black Canary, but my wife is enamored with the figure, so I guess that’s a good thing. She was really impressed with the realistic fishnet stockings. I was too, but in a different way…. I got the Deadshot primarily because I could, though he is a neat looking figure despite the fact I’m not really attached to the character.

Marvel Secret Wars 2 Packs: I finally have found the second series of these things after weeks of looking. They turned up in a Wal-Mart in a very urban area which had the most screwed up toy section I’d ever seen. There was tons of clearance put in random places and lots of toys that seemed to shelved randomly. The packs themselves about as cool as I hoped. The Iron Man is more yellow than the single carded version, which is exactly what I wanted and the Hulk is a great variation even if I have two Hulks now. If Hasbro keeps making figures like this, then I’ll be into this line for a while to come.
