The Rig, which Matt Doughty was working on when I interviewed him and I’ve been waiting for ever since, is finally on sale at Onell’s store for $25 each. If you loved all those fun vinyl anime toys in the 1980s (like this set, which I once owned), I think you should go buy one.
But don’t take my word for it–not yet, anyway. Here’s Battlegrip’s review of the Rig. Between Gygor and this, September 15 was a big day for toys I’ve been waiting for.

The toy I had was a "K.O. Trooper – a large truck-like vehicle with a large wrecking ball-like stalk".
There was an animated series produced by DIC, but I don't remember it, although maybe once I get the chance to YouTube it my memory might be jogged. The toy line was just called "Wheeled Warriors" produced by Mattel, they didn't have any backstory for the toys so the producers of the show came up with it.
Like 90% of all the cartoons in the '80s it was mainly written by Jean Chalopin and produced by J. Michael Straczynski (also of He-Man and Babylon 5) and it wouldn't be complete without a theme from Haim Saban and Shuki Levy.

@Heli: Thanks, I'll check that out. I'm fairly certain I still have all or most of it, but its probably in pieces scattered amongst my old playthings. That was a lot of fun!

Curses! This sold out before I got to the booth at SDCC and now it sold out online before I could get one. Does he do more runs of his stuff or is it sold out for good?

This is very cool looking. Some of my favorite toys as a kid were things I could customize.
There was a toy I had, its a little truck with a driver and you could customize it, with wheels and stuff. It had a green sort of battering arm on the back you could use.
Another toy I had was a this space ship that had pegs very reminiscent to Onell, and you could customize it in various ways.
