Poe-dcast

Oddly enough, the good people at Orccacast, a podcast specializing in movies, comics, games, toys, gadgets and other geek-related phenomena, deemed me worthy of an interview. This marks the first appearance of my horrible man-voice over the series of tubes (rest in peace, Sen. Stevens).

Still, the interview went well and I had a lot of fun with the OC folks. Topics included MOTU, Mattycollector, Ghostbusters, H.P. Lovecraft and the little-known movie The Resurrected.  My interview will be in episode 25, which will be posted tomorrow (Friday) on their website.

Dread Axe of Darkness – back on sale!

The Dread Axe of Darkness is back in stock at Poe Ghostal’s Points of Acquisition!  Click here to order yours!

After this run, there won’t be another one unless by popular demand, so now’s the time to order!

I also want to thank all of those who have ordered a Dread Axe already, for helping make this exclusive a success.

Dread Axe of Darkness goes on sale at 6pm!

Just a reminder, the Dread Axe of Darkness (yes, I changed the name) goes on sale at 6pm Eastern Time at poeghostal.ecrater.com. The production run is limited, but we’ll make more if it sells out (within reason–if it takes 2-3 weeks to sell out, then given the small size of the production run, that tells me it wasn’t popular enough to warrant another special run).

Poe Ghostal’s Points of Acquisition or, Not Another Webstore

That’s right, Poe’s selling out. Well, I will sell out if everything in my store is sold.

Yes, I’ve opened up a webstore, Poe Ghostal’s Points of Acquisition. Right now the only product there is an extra MOTUC Faker I have on hand, but I’ll probably also be throwing up random stuff from my collection from time to time: loose figures, perhaps some bags of accessories, Marvel Legends display stands, that sort of thing.

However, the reason I created the store in the first place was for a specific product which will be revealed very soon. Here’s a hint: it’s an exclusive!

My thanks to MechaShiva, as always, for the excellent art.

A PGPoA T-shirt

So a couple of weeks ago, I decided I wanted a t-shirt featuring MechaShiva’s awesome art of 339/1. Using the original hi-res images, I created the above shirt. The pic is a little washed out because of the sun in the shot–the colors are more vivid than they look.

So here’s my question: if I made these for sale, would anyone be interested? Be honest (though if I use a website like Zazzle, there’s really limited risk to me–I just want to know if it’s worth the effort to set up). And if there are other images on the site you’d like to see as a shirt, let me know–bearing in mind I can’t use any images of copyrighted toys, like Grimlock or even Prime Evil.

ToyFare #148

TOY148CvrTwilight

I forgot to mention this last week–I wrote the cover story for this month’s issue of ToyFare. Yes, I ventured into the world of both Twilight and dolls, and escaped with my masculinity intact.

In all seriousness, it was a lot of fun. The issue also features an awesome Inhumanoids retrospective by ’80s toy guru and occasional Poester Ben Leach.

ToyFare #148 is available in comic shops now and will hit newsstands next week.

Keep on Yuckin’ with a Weirdo Toys t-shirt

poe_wt_shirt

During our camping trip over the weekend I had my first opportunity to model this badass shirt from PGPoA ally Weirdo Toys, based on the bizarre Apple Devil.

(And no, I’m not getting any kickbacks for this, but Justin had better get me that interview and Show and Tell in a timely manner.)
