Not sure how long they’ll be there, but you can order the new DC vs. MOTU 2-packs on TRU’s website right now. If you decide to order them, please use the links below…I’ll get a commission that will help me bring you more PGPoA goodness for years to come.
The Mystery of the Plastic Mist
I was digging out some of the DCUC and Movie Masters figures the other day and found several of them–particularly Deathstroke, Nightwing and Movie Masters Batman Begins Batman–were covered with that oily, misty substance. There was a lot of discussion of this after DCUC Wave 3–apparently the worst offender for this issue–and in doing some research, I came across this informative Fwoosh post by user BigGuido. (more…)
Ask Mattel > Answers for December 1

1.) Mark asks: Can you please stop posing the WWE Legends figures in the packages as it is bending their legs to the side. Just pose them normally, they do not have to be in a dynamic pose to sell. Excellent figures BTW!
We pack out our Legends figures in dynamic poses that match trademark actions of those Superstars. However, we have become aware that some poses tend to negatively affect the figure inside and we will no longer be posing figures in ways that may happen do this.
2.) William Fontaine De la Tour Dauterive asks: Has the WWE team considered using the Terry Funk Elite upper body on more superstars? I feel that torso is more appropriate for folks like Edge, Chris Jericho, Drew McIntyre, Alberto Del Rio, Cowboy Bob Orton, prime Shawn Michaels, etc since it’s a little beefier than what’s currently being used. Pic of the Day
Crom! Vikor moved up to January, Bow bumped to February (w/ pics and bio)
MOTUC fans,
Quick update for everyone on the 2011 Vikor figure. Bow was running a little late and Vikor was actually running early so we swaped them in the schedule. Look for Vikor as the Club Eternia figure on Jan 18th and Bow on Feb 15th. As an added bonus, here is Vikor carded!
Enjoy!
Matty
I’m going to save my own bio discussion for when I can scan the card, but feel free to discuss it below.
Ask Mattel > Answers for Mid-November
Poe’s note: Apologies for the really weak Q&A this time, folks. I asked a number of WWE questions and apparently there was no one available to answer them.

1.) MldMnrdReporter asks: Are any *new* steps being taken to make sure Quality Control on MOTUC improves in the future? We know it wasn’t a factory error regarding Roboto (his shoulders were clearly tooled incorrectly, with the “L” and the “R” on the wrong pegs). $20 a figure is quite a bit of money to spend each month and it’d be nice to make sure we don’t get a flawed product.
We are always doing what we can to improve quality control. While fans only see the “mistakes” that slip through, many don’t realize the hundreds of things we do catch that are fixed before market. We totally understand the frustration with Roboto. Honestly, this one slipped through. Hey, even fan sites in their reviews didn’t notice the shoulder’s being reversed. In the end, it really only changes the pattern of the tech on his shoulders, the figure is still fully functional. We will look at correcting this one day, but nothing is planned right now. Quality Control is, and remains, of upmost importance to us. Even so, sometimes things do slip through.
2.) Snarf! Snarf! asks: Is it possible to get some official info regarding the power levels and extent of the abilities of MOTU characters (Including PoP, NA, etc.) somewhere down the line. Since the bios are focused on the story we can’t get that info. Things like: “Can Beastman control sea creatures, or is that Mer-Man’s job? Where does Mekaneck keep that huge amount of neck and other organs within his body? How strong is He-Man compared to King Grayskull?” (more…)
Happy Grizzlor Day

Sorry, running a bit behind today…it already looks like the rumors of a better server for Digital River have been greatly exaggerated…anyway, best of luck to all.

Pixel Dan’s King Grayskull Video Review
Odds ‘n Ends > November 5, 2010
- The Grizzlor early reviews are coming in. You can find Pixel Dan’s review in the previous post, and here’s Fwoosh’s first look. Fwoosh also has first looks of King Grayskull and the second Weapons Pak.
- The Guess-the-Weapon contest is over and a winner has been chosen. I’ll announce both the weapon and the winner very soon (hopefully tonight, but early next week at the latest).
- Got a ton of reviews in the hopper–pics are taken, now I just have to the really hard part: the writing.
- Count Dr. Mrs. Ghostal and I among the converted for the new BBC show Sherlock. We’ve only watched the first ep, but it’s fantastic. Of course, due to the lag between the BBC and BBC America, the DVD and Blu-Ray actually come out next week, before the season has even finished airing over here. Oh, and the guy who plays Holmes is named Benedict Cumberbatch. Only in England.
- Speaking of Sherlock, and therefore Steven Moffat, and therefore Doctor Who, the next Doctor Who figure assortments contains the usual crazy gaggle of robots/monsters/smartly-dressed types. God help me if I ever get into Doctor Who.
- You should immediately go play Organ Trail, an Oregon Trail tribute game about zombies. It’s awesome.
