We were given the option of heads or mini comics

We are looking into some plans for the mini comics but nothing to announce yet. We will definitely not be new pack in mini comics right now however. Fans were very clear they prefer alt. heads and extra accessories!

It was the fans at SDCC 2008 who voted for this live at our fan panel. Every year we let the fans at SDCC vote for something in the line. In 2008 fans voted for heads over mini comics, in 2009 fans voted for unflocked Panthor. Who knows what we will let fans vote on in 2010…the best way is to be at our fan panel! This is a special reward for those who come out, they actually get to affect the line in a permanent way

Why are you axing the additional (200X inspired) heads?

Would Mattel consider a 5-pack or a 6-pack of Golden Age Justice Society figures.???

It could be one way to give fans characters that may be harder to sell as single packed …such characters as Johnny Thunder and T-Bolt, the Red (Ma Hunkel) Tornado,… variants that may not move as well…as the Golden Age Hawkman, and Hawkgirl, Sandman and Sandy, versions of the Atom, or Doctor Fate w/half helmet, etc.

@PrfktTear: There are regular versions of Egon/Peter due out in Oct/Dec this year, which will complete the team.

Mysterious Stranger: I was being sarcastic of course, but we're already getting "We Believe You" Ray and Courtroom Peter before getting standard versions of all four Busters… thats just bad.

I'm not interested enough in the line to buy a sub. I don't have any desire to own a Marshmallow Gooey Ray, and other than for the Scalari Brother, I'd really have no reason to buy Courtroom Peter. I suppose the only other thought is to get the Courtroom Peter and swap his head with Slimed Peter (which I do not own).

I agree, they still seem to be testing the waters with GB and are hesitant to sink a lot of money into unique sculpts.

Just take a look at MOTUC. We've been getting a lot of the same parts again and again, so you know they haven't had to spend a lot of money on tooling except for new heads, armor, and weapons.

Now finally almost two years into the line we're getting a truly unique sculpt that really can't be used for another character (Roboto) and they've shown us King Hiss, he's another one (unless they release him in a Millennium deco) that does not have a lot of potential for re-use. Though, I suspect we'll see some of his parts again.

    Question:

Are you aware of how happy I'd be with a Gentleman Ghost rerelease with the Giganta parts without rebuying the entire wave?

Is it possible to print the CE certificate on MOTUC and other collectible items' packages, as it was done with the MOTUC/DCUC crossover sets? Some European collectors have problems with customs saying that MOTUC figures are not fullfilling the safety requirements of the European Union. (Which they actually do. It's only that the CE sign/certificate is missing, which in some cases results in customs not handing the items out to Matty's customers.)

  7. Mysterious Stranger

@Darren: I was at a Wal-Mart in L.A. last weekend and they had fresh stock of the DCUC 5-packs but the shelf tag said specifically DCUC Green Lantern 5-pack. So I'd imagine they'll be arriving soon-ish.

  8. Scott

    @Harlan Rosen:

Geoff Johns said at SDCC that a Red Lantern Guy Gardner is coming. He didn't say for which line.

  9. Heli

@Ren: You might (and I stress "MIGHT") have better luck asking on the mattycollector forums: http://forums.mattycollector.com/eve/forums/a/frm

  10. Ren

The Plastic Man was purchased via Matty Collector, whose website implores me to call Mattel for any problems with the actual product. But Mattel doesn't want anything to with it. I mentioned the phrase SDCC and the conversation was basically over at that point. I was under the assumption that paying close to 30 dollars for a 12 dollar toy would result in more customer service, not less. Sorry for the rant, just frustrated. I know this is not the right forum. But this is a question I'm dying to ask the people at Mattel who actually care about the DC and MOTU toylines.

  11. Darren

I've got a couple of Green lantern questions.

Q: I know that distribution is completely out of your hands once a company like Walmart or Target has taken delivery but I was curious if you have an ETA as to when we should expect the Green Lantern 5 pack in stores?

Q: There seems to be no character too obscure to produce in the DCUC line will that continue in the Green Lantern line? I would love a new G'Nort figure. (Although I may be the only one.)

  12. Sledgehama

For the eventual MOTUC Queen Marlena figure, would a Filmation-inspired design even be possible or would she by legal necessity need to be more 200X series styled (within the established MOTUC boundaries of course)?

  13. Harlan Rosen

When will we ever see a Red Lantern Guy Gardner? DC Direct seemed to miss their opportunity in their Blackest Night line — will we see one in Green Lantern Classics instead?

  14. Scott

    @Ren:

Unfortunately, if it was purchased at SDCC, Mattel has already said they had posted at the show that any exchanges had to occur during the show.

  15. Ren

My SDCC Plastic man showed up missing his (regular) right hand! I called Mattel and they said call Matty Collector, and Matty Collector says to call Mattel. Whose responsible for replacement?

  16. Mysterious Stranger

@PrfktTear: Your examples of the repaint possibilities in the GB line are the exact reason I skipped the subscription. I really think there is potential with this property (come on devil dogs!!!) but I don't think they are confident enough to start tooling up figures like Dana, Vigo and the aforementioned dogs.

  17. Mysterious Stranger

Thank you for the Green Lantern Classics waves! I've been waiting for these since Hal came out. My question is this. We've seen two waves worth of figures previewed at SDCC and I know you can't speculate on future releases. However, if this line proves successful (and why wouldn't it?) how far along are designs for future waves? Will there be a significant wait (6 months or more) between Wave 2 and Wave 3 or would the wait be more like that seen between DCUC waves (2-3 months)?

  18. Zach

I know you've stated before that it would not reduce the cost of figures, but to reduce the environmental cost, would you ever consider reducing the EXTREME amount of packaging used on DCUC and MOTUC figures? especially the two pack figures? there is so much space in the packaging and this just seems sooo wasteful.

  19. Zach

Whose flight stands did you use for your SDCC DCUC Hall of Justice display?

  20. AJ

    1. DCUC/MOTUC

Is there any chance we'll see the MOTUC female "buck/body-sculpt" used for a DCUC female character, for example Wonder Woman?

    2. DCUC

Is there any chance we'll see "collect and connect" characters (for example, Giganta) released as "standard-sized/regular" figures in the 6-7" scale?

    3. Toy Story 3

We've seen the new 6" scaled Lotso and Big Baby figures at SDCC, is there any chance we'll see other "new" characters from Toy Story 3 released in that scale, for example, Ken, Barbie, Trixie and/or Chuckles the Clown.

    4. Toy Story 3/MOTUC

Is there any chance we could see Twitch from Toy Story 3 released as a MOTUC figure, perhaps as a future convention exclusive (provided it is available on mattycollector.com after the show)?
